Great for a three year old, December 28, 2012 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Aquacraft Mini Rio Offshore RTR EP Boat (Toy) Don't be fooled by the videos on the aquacraft website. These must have been after hopping up the boat. Bought this for our son for Christmas and was greatly disappointed. I have seen windup boats that would run faster. The boat will never get up and plane on the water. Called manufacturer and I have to pay to send it back to them to look at. Called Phil's Hobby Shop where it came from and I am still waiting on them to call me back.
Does not plane. Do not consider this RC boat for purchase, even in the "beginner" category., January 29, 2013 By = Durability:

This review is from: Aquacraft Mini Rio Offshore RTR EP Boat (Toy) My wife purchased this boat for me as a holiday gift from a local hobby store. While I understand that this is an entry level $100 boat, it is also was a complete failure out of the box. With the stock propellor, this boat suffers from cavitation and does not plane. I may have gotten it up once with a fully charged battery. Supposedly an aftermarket prop called an Octura x431 that fixes the issue. From searching around, it seems that there are quite a few Mini Rios that suffer from this same problem! Letting this thing go to market with an issue that a $2 part could have fixed is unacceptable. Also, the water cooling tubing on mine was too long crimped itself inside of the boat. I had to shorten the length of the tubing to get rid of the crimp and ensure good flow to the (zip-tied) water block.
I'm a RC Heli flyer, and this was my first boat. Knowing now that many who have purchased the Mini-Rio seem to have the same issue, I will probably not be buying any more Aquacraft... Read more

Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Aquacraft Mini Rio Offshore RTR EP Boat (Toy) I'm having the same problems as the previous customer. This boat belongs in a bathtub not a pond. I bought a boat for my son for $35 that does circles around this piece of junk. The guy at hobby zone is useless. He doesn't stand by his products. He doesn't honor the return policy from amazon for the holidays. Have to contact the manufacturer. He probably got chinese knock offs and sold them as the real thing and now we're going in circles....
