Great product - Quick tips for new purchasers, August 9, 2012 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Carrera Power Wave Remote Control Speed Boat - 50 cm (Toy) One of the safety features on this boat is that it won't power up when its propellers aren't in water. This can make it seem dead out of the box when trying to plug in the battery and power up the boat. The on/off switch for the boat is a round pushbutton just behind and between the two passenger figurines. When pressed with the boat in water, a red LED lights up in the passenger seat, and another sync LED lights up in the battery compartment. Similarly, once the controller battery compartment is closed and its power switch pushed (in the middle of the back) another LED lights up the lower front of the controller. The antenna is delivered folded down on the top of the controller, and raised straight up for use. I downloaded an updated manual from the Carrera-RC website which clarifies all this. The updated manual also clarifies that the boat is shipped already synced with its controller, so there is no need to do that again under normal circumstances.
