battery elimination circuit, March 18, 2011 By = Durability: = Fun: = Educational: Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Castle Creations CC Bec 10A 6S Switching Regulator (Toy) if you have an electric radio controlled car you probably have a BEC built into your electric speed controller ESC these usually have 5 to 6v output and about 2-3 amps
when pushing the model to its max sometimes the ESC starves its own internal BEC and your radio might glitch or if its a 2.4 ghz it will loose connection and have to rebind...not a good thing when your going fast as this can take seconds for communications to be reestablished
by mounting this bec directly to your batteries, it will not be starved for power, so the risk of the radio malfuktioning is much less, also this BEC is much more powerful, almost 10 amp at 6v this is a lot of power ! so even if you have very power hungry servos or are powering lights or something else this will do great
with power comes risks and you have to be very careful not to short it out, this unit has no short circuit protection, and will burst into flames if shorted, but this shouldnt be a problem... Read more
Castle Creations 10 amp uBEC, March 12, 2013 By This review is from: Castle Creations CC Bec 10A 6S Switching Regulator (Toy) I've got 9 of these switching power supply types of BEC's in 9 different airplanes. All are programmed to 6.5 Volts DC. Three of these models are equipped with my home made very fast responding under voltage alarm that is set to 6.0 Volts DC.
After four years of flying with these CC BEC's those under voltage alarms have NEVER gone off. Three of these models have seven servos each, with a mix of digital and analog servos. These CC 10 amp uBEC's work, and work well. No more need be said.
great speed controller, March 9, 2013 This review is from: Castle Creations CC Bec 10A 6S Switching Regulator (Toy) Im using thus speed controller in an align 250 flybarless helicopter. Im running a 3s lipo setup and utilizing the onboard BEC. The speed controller runs cool and the BEC is adequate for four mini digital brushless servos.
