Good RC Boat, Manufacturers description is exagerated, June 14, 2005 By = Durability: = Fun:

This review is from: Radio Control Sea Shadow Ship: X-19 Infiltrator (27 MHz) (Toy) This is a neat boat in that the design is very different from most others and really looks menacing. But it really isn't any faster than most others in this price range. The manufacturers description says, "This amazingly fast and sleek ship travels across the water at an incredible speed and, with a push of a button on the remote it transforms from hyper-speed mode to stealth mode" Sounds entincing but it is not "amazingly fast" nor does it travel at "incredible speed" and the "hyper-speed mode" is not faster than "stealth mode." Stealth mode is a little quieter, that's the only difference I saw.
It is a little more difficult for younger kids (under 8?) to control since it has two propellers and two speed controls on the remote. To turn the boat you need to release one speed control to turn off one propeller, then the other propeller will help turn the boat. It does get a little confusing. The speed is not okay for the under 12 year old kids, and it is fun to watch -- just... Read more

Very disappointed!!, December 26, 2005 By = Durability: = Fun: = Educational: Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Radio Control Sea Shadow Ship: X-19 Infiltrator (27 MHz) (Toy) This was bought for my husband so he and our son could have boat races. Little did I know when I purchased this item, but the 9.6v 700mAh NiCd battery pack was NOT included even though the ad says all that is needed is the 9v battery. Needless to say we have a very interesting piece of plastic sitting around with NO ability to use it. Amazon does not even carry the 9.6v 700mAh NiCd battery pack needed so we are stuck trying to locate one somewhere before we can even attempt to charge it and use. Do not buy this unless you want to cause great disappointment.
