Battery only lasts about half an hour so if you want more out of it get an extended life battery. Other boats are closer to 100 dollars so this + the extra battery is still a great deal. I will most likely buy more of these.

Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Remote Control Boat Hydro Style Rc 1:25 Scale Color May Vary (Toy) Bought this for my kids to use in the pool. This boat is pretty fast, alot of battery operated boats are NOT. The battery lasts good compared to other boats, about 20 minutes. It does take at least 4 hours to charge the battery though, recommend you get extra batteries and charge them overnight. Only negative comment is no reverse. Very easy to turn sharp/do figure 8's. I let a 4 year old use it, little TOO fast for that age. This boat is good for pool too, the "rounded" front pontoons won't poke a hole in liner. If you buy 2 be aware that you need 2 different freqs (27mhz or 40mhz) if you want to use them at same time for racing. I bought 2 and recieved a red one and a blue one, but they were both 27mhz. Recommend you call the supplier to see if they have 2 frequencies.

Runs at 15-20 mph like the box says for about 5-10 minutes. 10 mintues after that it goes about 5-10 mph, which is a good speed. It's so fast it creates wakes and waves. I played with it on a backyard lake and it goes about 300 yards before running out of range. Construction wise its solid and durable. Only bad thing is the battery cover is difficult to put on at times, and doesn't create a 100& waterproof seal. Just be sure to dump out any water before you put it away for the day. I highly recommend this boat. Fast, cheap and very fun.
