Having a blast!!, March 23, 2012 By arplnfxr (Shawnee, OK USA) - See all my reviews = Durability: = Fun: = Educational: Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: (BLUE) 4 ch Indoor Infrared Remote Control Helicopter "DRIFT KING" with Gyroscope Bought a Heli Hogs thru K-mart, couldn't adjust trim, took it back. Got Drift King thru Amazon, even with shipping, only paid $2 more than K-Mart, and Drift King is 100x better!! Metal construction, takes a beating, charged up and flew immediately. Getting better!! Like forward and back, left and right, lights. Like USB charging cable, use the adapter from my iPhone. The USB charger and charging from the controller, charge indicator lights are not as specified in instructions. Full charge about 40 minutes USB, about 10 minutes flying time, a little more if you turn off the lights, which are awesome!!! More or less my first 'adult' toy, loving it!!! Something to do in house if weather is bad outside....practicing, landing here/there....LOVE IT!!!!

Before opening the blue one, I noticed the rotor blades did not look smooth. Upon close investigation, without opening the box, it was evident that the helicopter had been flown. I knew what I was looking at, because I crashed the orange one many times and the blades are about the only thing that suffers any damage. They will get really knicked and rough; however, the helicopter will keep flying just fine. My gripe is that I ordered a brand new blue helicopter, and they sent me one that had been returned, refurbished, or who knows what they were trying to pawn off on me. It was obvious that it had been crashed a few times, so I sent it back without opening it. These are great copters, but the company may try to re-sale damaged copters. It could have been an honest mistake, so I am just saying that you should check your copter through the package window before opening. Look for dents in the blades and scratches... Read more

Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: (BLUE) 4 ch Indoor Infrared Remote Control Helicopter "DRIFT KING" with Gyroscope I've had this helicopter for a day so far and I must say this is really great for the money. The controls are very responsive and the thing is actually a breeze to control once you get the feel for it. There are really only two negatives I've found:
1. As others have mentioned, the landing skids are pretty flimsy. They're only made of thin plastic. I've dropped mine a few times from the ceiling to the floor (be careful when fully charged, it has a bunch of power at first) and they've stood up to it, but I have a feeling that too many more times and I may not be that lucky.
2. It has a tendency to drift forward and not over. I'm going to try to correct that with a bit of tape on the tail to balance it out. It's not a fast drift mind you, but rather a slow one. It's easily overcome with a little reverse bump every now and again and you certainly can't tell when you have it on the move.
In any event, I'd have to say it's well worth the price of admission... Read more
