Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: HPI Racing 106159 Sprint 2 Flux with Mustang GT-R Body RTR 2.4GHz (Toy) First of all, this thing is F-A-S-T! Now that I got that outta the way... I did a ton of research before settling on the HPI Flux. They had the best Ready To Run build quality, best specs, and after seeing all the customization available, I said screw it and bought this.... and an off road truck just cause im stupid like that. I wasnt thrilled with buying a Mustang cause I hate them, but after pulling it out of the box I take it back. Very cool. And synching the remote with the car takes 2sec, an idiot could do it, did it. Went with a 3s Lipo, a must with any decent RC. All in all, very fun to play with, and Amazon had the cheapest price by $50 easily.
Ok, but could be better., February 14, 2013 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: HPI Racing 106159 Sprint 2 Flux with Mustang GT-R Body RTR 2.4GHz (Toy) I bought this because I liked the idea of not having to muck around with a kit and trying to buy a radio, esc, servo etc.
If I could do it over again I would get something like the team associated TC4 club kit and piece the bits together.
Steering is horrendous. Massive amounts of slop and the servo is not only weak but it turns in one direction faster than the other. Ball cups are extremely loose and popped off at the slightest bump at the track. Oh, and when they pop off the dogbones almost always fall out meaning you've got to go out on the track and try and find a tiny black part on the dark grey carpet/tarmac. I tried to fix this by upgrading to rpm heavy duty ball cups which fixed the slop and didn't pop off as easily but then the servo wasn't powerful enough so I had to upgrade that.
satisfied customer, February 13, 2013 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: HPI Racing 106159 Sprint 2 Flux with Mustang GT-R Body RTR 2.4GHz (Toy) HPI is a great company but I think liked in the minor details that would have made this car unbeatable for the money. Unlike some reviews I read on the battery pack that comes with it, it was still enouph to see this thing move pretty damn good.
Of course youll need a lipo battery to see it kick ass but thats with any rc. So the only problem I saw were the following:
-the belts were very loose when I recieved it and although you can tighten the front a little (NOT ENOUPH) the rear cannot be tightened at all.
-you have to set transmitter settings to the reciever, esc, motor. which I think should have been done from factory considering this is a RTR (READY TO RIDE) item.
-theres is a grinding sound when you take off which Im assuming is from the belt skipping because the looseness of the belt that cant keep up with the spinning gear. Ive looked up forums on this issue and there is a quick fix as long as your willing to make some... Read more
