Does NOT work well in Snow, February 26, 2013 By Randy L Henderson (LEXINGTON, NC, US) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Pro-Line Racing 1158-00 Sling Shot SC 2.2"/3.0" Tires (Toy) Bought these to use in the winter in Alaska...they are quality tires, and ship by the pair...BUT they really do not do well in snow...In soft snow they just dig a hole and you go nowhere...On the plowed streets they do well, much better than regular tires...But it you were looking to scoot around on soft snow, these will not do that.

I haven't tested these in sand yet. Now I'm at the point where they are going to have to be replaced soon. Anyway I took these out in the snow a few times and boy was that fun. Of all the tires I have these hands down preform the best in snow. The down side is you can't drive on a hard surface without damaging the paddles. You also don't have any traction in reverse. But if you are willing to keep the throttle on constantly in snow that isn't too deep these tires are a blast.
Awesome in the snow!, January 25, 2013 This review is from: Pro-Line Racing 1158-00 Sling Shot SC 2.2"/3.0" Tires (Toy) Just installed a pair of these tires on my Traxxas Slash 2wd with stock motor/battery. I'm also running stock tires on the front. Massive traction. In about 3 inches of fresh snow I could go maybe three feet before getting stuck with the stock tires, with the Sling-Shot's on the back, I only get stuck in the deep stuff and can usually power through it.
Pros:
* Excellent forward traction.
* Easy to install (you should buy separate wheels so you can still use the old tires for bashing around).
* Throws a bad-ass roost.
Cons:
* After only one run, I see that they are wearing already. Probably won't last too long but the soft rubber is, I'm sure, part of what make these grip so well.
* Reverse traction is nearly zero (as can be expected) so don't expect to back out of anything....
All in all I'm happy and would recommend these.
