They are a bit larger diameter for more clearance, and have soft, large knobbies that really grip. My friend has a set on his Stampede, and they grip so well he does wheelies in the snow with them. So I ordered a set for my 2wd Stampede and it really helps a lot in the snow for both steering and forward momentum. FYI, You will want to order the Desperado Rear Desperado 2.8 Wheel, Black: Jato, NST, NRU wheels to go with these. I ordered 4 rear wheels so I could swap them to my 4x4 vxl stampede if I need to.

I wanted to be able to run my RC in the winter but they just wouldnt grip. I read some reviews and watch youtube vids on the Trenchers and decided to try them out. WOW what a step up for snow use. Very happy with the purchase.
Another quality product from Pro-line, January 1, 2013 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Pro-Line Racing 1170-00 Trencher 2.8" (Traxxas Style Bead) All Terrain Truck Tires (Toy) I purchased a set of the Pro-line Trencher tires for my 2wd Traxxas Stampede, and they didn't disappoint me. I have purchased numerous items from the US based Pro-line company (RC car bodies, tires, and wheels) and they never disappoint me. The tires are soft, so I turned them inside-out and wrapped duct tape around them as recommended by other RC hobbyists before mounting them, which reduces expansion due to the soft rubber. The thicker tire tread is the most noticeable compared to the stock Traxxas talon tires. The traction is 10 times better and they look great mounted on the Pro-line black Desperado 2.8 wheels (buy some tire glue too). I highly recommend these tires for any RC Traxxas Stampede owners.
