Better than the Stock Slash Body!, June 14, 2010 By peb (CA, United States) - See all my reviews = Durability:

This review is from: Pro-Line Racing 3238-62 Volkswagen Baja Bug Clear Body (Toy) I've been a proud "beetle" owner in the past so when I saw you could buy a "Baja" Bug body for the Slash I just had to get it.
The plastic seems as durable as the stock slash body. It comes with a "fake" beetle engine in the back which I cut out (prefer the look without it). It also comes with a spoiler, which I attached with the included hardware.
This is the first body replacement I have done (actually the first time I ever used spray paint) and I found it very easy, and the results were awesome. However this body came with no instructions, and assumes you know how to do it (or have asked someone). So here are my tips:
1. Buy the right hardware. You will need curved lexan scissors to cut out the bug shape and wing from the lexan; and a special hole punch tool to make the holes for the antennae and post mounts. I bought these from a hobby store.
2. Cut out the body and the wing. Punch the holes and fit it to your slash before painting. You will... Read more
Quality..., March 8, 2013 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Pro-Line Racing 3238-62 Volkswagen Baja Bug Clear Body (Toy) Better than the stock shell that came on my truck hands down. 3 times thicker than the oem ones.
*YOU WILL HAVE TO CUT AND SHAPE. Also, the holes need to be reamed.
Wasn't too bad. took about 4 hours but the end product is superb.
Tough Slash Body, February 24, 2012 By This review is from: Pro-Line Racing 3238-62 Volkswagen Baja Bug Clear Body (Toy) I prefer these bodys to the truck bodys. I think they last longer and kinda act like a roll cage because of the shape. Still a good idea to use shoe goo and drywall tape on the inside after painting! The only frustrating thing about ordering this body was the fact that it was ordered on Jan. 18 and recieved on Feb.23. Seems like a really long time to me! I had to go the hobby shop and buy another body while waiting for this one in the mail. I think that is what I will do from now on! The product is great! The service was terrible!
