After borking a set of stock shocks I upgraded to some Traxxas Bigbores, and I wanted something to protect that investment. These seem to do a great job of completely shielding the shock lowers from any oncoming debris, I don't find any bits of straw or twigs tangled in the springs anymore after bashes in the yard. Height and width more than cover anything exposed from the front.

Voice of experience: take your time with installation. I managed to crack one of the supplied shock ends by being a little too impatient pressing in the eye pivot into the rod-end, and RPM doesn't sell these separately. They aren't like the normal ends, they seem shorter than the shortest tie-rod ends they sell, and looks like they have much more squared shafts, to orient the guard.

You can run a stock shock end with the guard on, and the spring pressure will hold it in place, but it could still wander and rotate around. Shouldn't interfere with anything else on the truck if it did,... Read more
