Another great copter from Syma, October 4, 2011 By Casey Jones "KC" (Harrisburg, PA USA) - See all my reviews = Durability:

Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Syma S023G 3.5 CH Large AH-64 Apache Military Gyro Helicopter - 15 Inches Fun, fabulous flying as I've come to expect from Syma. This larger 'outdoor' sized copter is impressive. Nicely modeled, pretty darn big, performs GREAT. Flies stable and well. Definitely NOT a good candidate for indoor flying like the minis, unless you have a very large space indeed (large great room with vaulted ceiling, gym, etc.)... I have flown it indoors in a large living room, and it's plenty controllable to do so - just not much fun as you're really just trying to avoid hitting the walls or ceiling in that small a space.
like all outdoor heli's I've experienced, this one tolerates virtually no wind at all. You need a really still day. But given that, it flies extremely well. Plenty of range, can easily go higher than I want to fly it, lots of power. It would easily blast away the first-fallen leaves off my trees.
It does have a much more noticeable "ground effect" than the minis (as do real helicopters). Within about a foot of the ground, the 'blowback'... Read more

GREAT CHOPPER THAT DID NOT LAST, September 28, 2011 By = Durability:
= Fun:

Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Syma S023G 3.5 CH Large AH-64 Apache Military Gyro Helicopter - 15 Inches I must say that this chopper has great look and very good performance while it lasted. I bought it back in August 2011 and it was one of my favorite helicopters. Since I started this hobby not too long ago, I have bought over 24 other choppers and I have to admit this Apache flew very well and Syma makes some of the best easy-to-fly helicopters. (But E-FLITE, in my opinion, makes excellent quality helis. Even their fixed-pitch helis are very easy to master. )
Anyway today, all of a sudden, the heli could not generate enough power to take off. I changed the battery and it still did not work. (FYI: It will take a E-flite 7.4 volt battery) No doubt, I am disappointed now but believe it or not I am going to purchase another one. Hopefully, the new unit will not have the same problem.

Great stable chopper, December 14, 2011 By = Fun:

Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Syma S023G 3.5 CH Large AH-64 Apache Military Gyro Helicopter - 15 Inches I purchased one of these. the first one wouldn't link up..but stuff happens, sent it back and got another one! Very stable and easy to fly indoors in "beginer" mode,in "fast" tail rotor mode it'll take about a 5 mph wind. I've flown a lot of minis indoor and can easily fly the apache 15" in a 15x15 room. As far as some reviewers griping about loss of power and batteries. Loss of power inability to take off, you have a bad motor..replace it. This is the great thing about syma! You can get parts and.. like any other mechanical item.. parts wear out..batteries wear out..get over it! I've had little choppers for months with no problems. I've replaced a couple of motors on the smaller ones, and two batteries, out of eight minis. This chopper I would recomend for someone who has flown a lot of minis it works the same and keep it on "beginer" indoors. After you get used to flying it hot glue a couple of nickels or a quarter & nickel to the nose, under the gun pod.. it'll limit your backward... Read more
