Works As Should, February 19, 2011 = Durability:
= Fun: = Educational: Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Traxxas 3638 Rear Shock Tower, Stampede (Toy) The rear shock tower (part: 3638, by Traxxas) is a part that holds up the rears shocks, keeps back tires firm, and has the motor wires go through the center so they are not swinging around while driving. The item works with the regular and VXL versions of the electric Bandit, Rustler, and Stampede remote control cars. It is easy to replace by just unscrewing 8 screws from the older tower (with the 3 types of allen wrenches you got with the car) and screw them back in with the new tower.
The part is plastic but can last a good amount of use. I didn't have to buy an extra until after more than 1 year of almost constant use. It usually breaks when it does big jumps because the springs push the top part from the bottom and it breaks in half. This item is very cheap to buy and will last a while but there is an aluminum version (part: ST3638S) which of course will most likely not break at all, although it costs $20. So you may as well just buy 5 of the plastic ones instead. I highly... Read more
