I am an avid RC hobbyist, I have cars, planes, and helicopters. I can say that this is one of my favorite mini helicopters. I bought the Blade MCPx V1 right when it came out after seeing all the videos of it flying. Well when I flew the MCPx for the first time I was sorely disappointed. It did not have the climb out, responsiveness, or stability to really do anything but simple forward flight with a few piro turns, flips, rolls, it struggled with loops. I must say that I live in Colorado, so the thinner air makes the MCPx even more anemic then it already is.

Well I was very hesitant to buy this heli due to my experience with the MCPx. Still though my desire for a small full 3d heli that I could fly indoors won over. Now this is what the MCPx should have been when it was released. The 130 x has so much more power and the AS3X system give the helicopter stability. When I fly the 130x it feels like I am flying one of my T-Rex 450s. The tail is locked in and there is... Read more

3.0 out of 5 stars The Downside, July 17, 2012

As far as positives are concerned I agree with everything C.Moy described in his review. This is a huge step up from the MCPX and just a joy to fly. However, I think it is fair to point to some of the downsides:
    - Given the size of this heli, parts are really expensive. I just crashed into grass tail first and the repair is $45 in parts. The tiny tail lever is $14, more than on my 450 size heli and as much as an entire tail assembly including motor on the MCPX.
    - Supposedly, every heli has a point during spool-up that creates big vibrations, but on the 130x it is very pronounced as it comes with an awful sound. No negative impact on flying per se, but it makes me cringe each time
    - The stock canopy is very hard to see when flying in a field or with trees in the background
    - I had to tighten the tail blades prior to the first blades as they were way too loose out of the box. Good thing I had read some reviews stating the tail blades came off during a flight
    - I... Read more

    4.0 out of 5 stars Blade 130X my Impressions. A love - hate helicopter., July 24, 2012

I erased my previous review of this helicopter since I was less experienced and the product was new, but I think I needed to write down a review again having played with 3 of these helis in about a year timeline. First thing to say is that it flyes really good, the best for a small helicopter, very stable, crisp turns, rock solid tail on flight and very customizable on Tx and gain settings. I flew these birds everyday at spare moments and they where awsome. On inverted flight great also, a little bit difficult to perform tick tocks perhaps is better for long tick tocks at the beggining of the flight with a more charged lipo. Crashes are well handled, specially on grass and cutting off the engine. Cons: plastic A gear (Main gear) strips quickly with few crashes, is better to use metal one, but be aware to sand it down a bit to avoid touching the front servo plate and damage it since is very tedious to replace since you have to separate all the mainframe to do it. Tail servo frecuently... Read more
