Then I bought my father one, and my father-in-law one. It's a super fun little chopper and the built in gyro means you can fly it with ease.
I like it so much I wanted to compare it with another mini helicopter and perhaps have a mini-heli duel of sorts, enter the Viefly V568.
Just before it arrived, much to my chagrin, the battery on my S107 started to go out. This was heartbreaking for two reasons. First, I only had it a week. Second, it was easily one of the coolest things I'd bought in years. Here's hoping that it was a fluke and the ones I gave as gifts hold up better.
The Viefly has to be secretly made by the same people as the Syma S107. It has the same remote control (only better as the vertical stick has no spring, much easier to fly with) and the thing flys like a charm. Have had this helicopter for about two weeks, now. It has taken lots AND LOTS of beatings (drops/crashes)... well, for the first couple of days. I'm really surprised that the chopper is still intact and running. Nothing has broken!
Battery:
Charge time: 40-45 minutes
Use time: 7-8 minutes
Initially, battery was charged to the forty to forty-five minute charge time. Upon use, the first minute or so, heli was kind of "too powerful" or "over driven" and a bit difficult to control. Then, it would fly normally for five or six more minutes. But, after the first two days, and maybe over 15+ uses, the chopper became more constant. Motor was more stable throughout flight time. Tried a few since. This one, for an indoor, fun learning experience or stepping stone is great!
It's the best so far. Soon I'll be flying the big one outdoors. Some suggested a simulator. I think this goes further.
Might just buy another for those rainy spring days!
