Much better than expected - a lot of copter for the coin,, December 10, 2012 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Blade 300 X BNF (Toy) Just got back into the hobby....first flew them as a kid in mid 80's and then again in early 00's.
Was considering returning the 300x after reading negative reviews on some of the forums.
Vibrations cause main shaft to fail and there were several different causes for the vibration.
Decided to give it a try anyway as it seemed like the one's having trouble had bought them just as soon as the heli came out and it may be a Q/C issue. Not everyone was having the issue but still enough to make me concerned.
Still I waited over a week to try it not only for the above reasons but also had other concerns when using Phoenix flight sim which I also bought around the same time. I was use to flying traditional flybar Heli's that had a gyro, but those gyros were there to assist not totally control the tail rotor. I could fly the traditional heli's in the sim easy enough but noticed that at least several of the modern computer controlled flybarless models were... Read more

Really nice heli, CF Blades are a Must!, September 18, 2012 By = Durability:

This review is from: Blade 300 X BNF (Toy) I am a big fan of Blades Helis, I have almost every Blade heli on market right now, some of them filed up In a closet because I don't find too much pleasure on flying a fixed pitch heli at this point. I really love to fly CP Helis with AS3X or Beast X (flybarless), so I decided to buy Blade 300x and some spare lipos. This helicopter is much bigger than a 250 size heli, a bit smaller than a 450. It's very stable when flying and very good on maneuvers, If you set it up with DR of 85 it's very twitchy at least for me so I set it up on DR of 70 and 22 of Expo where I find it great. Also you can use preset behaviors like sport, pro or extreme that are really nice and easy to set up, Throttle curve is very strange (0, 25, 50, 60, 70), It doesn't climb up like a rocket like the 450x does, and I feel this TC settings a bit underpowered for this heli. But HH doesn't recommend to surpass 75% throttle with wooden blades. I think it is a very very nice heli to fly, very well made, very nice to... Read more

Very Stable and fun goes right where you tell it and stays there, February 2, 2013 By = Durability:

This review is from: Blade 300 X BNF (Toy) Background:
I'm coming from flying a Blade Nano and then Blade 130X so this Blade 300 X is a little scary first time you spool it up. Almost sounds like a gas turbine spooling up and seems much larger than the 130X
First Flight:
Smooth... this baby is smooth. First flight was in 0 wind and this is much more stable in a hover then my other helicopters. And much smoother than my Blade 130 X. My flying field seems much smaller now as this baby will move in forward or rearward flight for sure!
Flying:
My first thought is with the stock settings its got less power than my 130X, still fun but it won't leap off the ground like a rocket. I heard the conservative settings were to protect the wooden main rotor blades? Still pierrettes on this heli are a blast and super stable just hold the stick over and spin baby spin. Very smooth to react when flying but a little slower to react I guess because of the mass than the Blade 130X or... Read more
