Great deployment distraction!, October 22, 2011 By = Durability: = Fun: Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: F103 Avatar 4ch Gyro LED Mini Rc Helicopter Metal Red I ordered this mini-copter because i saw two of them racing down my hallway one night. i am presently deployed and thought that this would be something fun so i bought one. Little did I know that a trend was begining, and in less than a month there would be about 13-20 of these flying around our office spaces at night. LOL
After 30+ crashes into doors, floors and ceiling lights, my copter is STILL flying!!!! The most durable things that i have seen in a long time-and that coming from a Marine!!!! It arrived 16 days earlier than expected, and it has definelty brightened up the moral around here. Thanks for building some thing of quality, and I'm looking forward to when it's "big brother" shows up so I can show out my peers!!! OORAH!!

The helicopter is great. There is a demonstration sales video that shows off how easy it is to fly and how rugged. This isn't a case where an expert makes a bad toy look good. This bird is very easy to lift off and get it to fly under a fair degree of control. Response is good without being so sensitive that over-control is the only control. I strongly recommend it as a first helicopter. It made me look good.
It is not at all expensive and quite rugged. I've hit floor, ceiling, refrigerator, cabinets and trash container with it (didn't say I was a good pilot). There are spare blades, but so far no noticeable damage to the machine. Or the dog.
Educational? Well, its a fun toy and give some idea of the difficulty in flying the real thing. But it is so well designed that you might not learn a whole lot flying it... Read more
