Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Remote control Helicopter with Gyro and Spycamera!! -3.5ch Hawkspy LT-711 Black For the brief amount of time I had this unit, I loved it. Other than needing six AA batteries, this comes ready to go out of the box. Just put the batteries in the remote, charge the 'copter and you're set. I will freely admit I am a newbie in the realm of remote control toys so I am still learning the controls. That's why I need to make it clear that what happened was not the fault of the toy, but mine. I flew the 'copter a few times. The controls are well laid out and easy to use. There is also a button on the remote to operate the video camera located in the bottom of the 'copter. It even comes with a mini-SD card and adapter. On my third flight there was a little wind so the 'copter was beginning to drift over to the neighbor's yard. When I tried to get it back I accidentally lowered the 'lift' lever rather than the 'reverse' lever. The rotor immediately stopped and the 'copter dropped like a stone into my neighbor's pool. With that, it was dead. Is this a surprise... Read more

Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Remote control Helicopter with Gyro and Spycamera!! -3.5ch Hawkspy LT-711 Black Go ahead and order several sets of connect gears and replacement blades if you decide to purchase this bird. And beware that the instructions have lost some of their context in the translation from Chinese to English so there is a bit of a learning curve. Once you learn to completely throttle down immediately before an impending crash your need for spare parts should diminish. Lots of good tips and how-to videos out there to save you some aggravation. If you're no good with extremely small mechanical projects I don't reccomend this chopper however. 3.5ch Hawkspy LT-711 RC Helicopter with Gyro and Spycam - Black

Big Helicopter-Camera is great-takes skill to fly well, January 26, 2013 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Remote control Helicopter with Gyro and Spycamera!! -3.5ch Hawkspy LT-711 Black As a hobby, I photograph cars at the annual Concours D'Elegance at Pebble Beach. I have been looking for an affordable outdoor helicopter with video camera to get aerial shots of the cars and the Hawkspy looks like it will get the job done just fine. Since the Concours is six months away, I have plenty of time to develop my flying skills. I have flown indoor helicopters, but flying outdoors requires a different set of skills which I am still learning. In a nutshell, the last thing I want to do is run the Hawkspy into a rare and very expensive car, on accident.
It took a couple hours of practice to learn how to fly a small indoor helicopter made by Swann. I was pretty good at flying it after a week, so I figured it was time to try an outdoor helicopter. The Hawkspy is a little over twenty inches long and is much bigger than the Swann I was used to flying. My first flight was outside our house on a calm day. The helicopter worked perfectly and hovered in one spot just... Read more
