There are better (and cheaper) choices for beginners, March 23, 2013 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: UDI U816a 2.4ghz 4 Ch Mini Rc 4 Axis UFO Aircraft Quadcopter RTF (Toy) Quadcopters are an EXCELLENT alternative for people who have always wanted to master an RC helicopter but are simply not adept to keep one in the air for more than 5 seconds. That would be a person like myself.
I purchased two quadcopters at the same time - this one and a Syma X1. The Syma X1 comes in several models, but they are the same except for the center cover.
I bought this UDI for my 10 year old kids. My thought was that flying indoors is great - but we don't want to damage the props or walls when they inevitably collide. It would be a great learning model for the kids.
The Syma was for me. The idea being that I had some RC experience.
Quadcopters of today are supposed to be incredibly stable beasts. They have on-board gyroscopes to keep them amazingly level.
But here's the thing - the UDI quadcopter is NOT a stable beast. It wants to wander - alot - and because it is so small, outdoor flight is very very difficult... Read more

Great to fly, easy to maintain., March 6, 2013 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: UDI U816a 2.4ghz 4 Ch Mini Rc 4 Axis UFO Aircraft Quadcopter RTF (Toy) I got my Quadcopter very swiftly, a day before Amazon said it would get here.
Not only is it fun to fly, but its easy to maintain as well. The Propellers tend to get string or other fibers stuck under them, but the propellers come off easy enough. Don't try pulling them off, use some type of leverage from under the prop.
The only downsides to this product is that the manual is VERY roughly translated Korean, and the broken English may confuse some.

There are plenty of other options available in the mid $30's range for the same quality, unless you like the design of this UDI unit and you feel it's worth to pay extra for the design.
