Only turns in one direction; the wheel on the remote is fake, and has no speed control. The "trigger" simply makes it turn to the left. Additionally, swapping batteries requires a tiny screwdriver, so if your kids want to take this on vacation, you'll have to pack a screwdriver, as well! It only drives in reverse and steers in only 1 direction. This is a terrible product. He's so disappointed that he spent his own money of this useless toy. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful  don't buy 2 and plan to race!, August 21, 2012 = Durability: = Fun: = Educational: This review is from: Racing Boat with Radio Control (Colors May Vary) (Toy) Bought 2 of these boats for a racing game in a pool that is 6'x8' in length. batteries gave out quick even though boats are small, and though they are advertised as being able to race due to the 2 different frequencies, that is not true and no way to fix this problem even though many of us tried.
