Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: 3 Channel Apache Indoor RC Helicopter With Gyro I bought a Syma Apache and its Gyro was junk outta the box! It could not be trimmed out and spun like crazy. So having recently bought 2 V268 Viefly cobras and was extremely impressed and pleased, I bought this V168 Apache. It like its sister was flawless! I recommend the Vieflys if you are in the market for 3 channel military aircraft, I have gotten hours out of mine and are by far more durable than Syma s107's.

Too irratic-but durable, February 21, 2011 By Bargain Finder (Los Angeles, CA) - See all my reviews = Durability:

Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: 3 Channel Apache Indoor RC Helicopter With Gyro First, let me say that I own a Syma S107 so I'm not a complete novice to r/c helicopters. So, I can say with some authority that this Viefly is irratic. It's either over-reative, or unresponsive. I simply cannot maintain a level altitude. It either 'shoots' up to the ceiling when I try to gain a little height, or plummets from the sky when I merely touch the controls to lower the height. And if and when I can get it just about right (i.e. altitude), it continually drifts side to side or changes altitude without any 'controller signal' to do so. And when I gently push the stick to go right (clockwise), it first turns left about 1/8 revolution, and THEN, only does it turn right...almost as if it's 'pushing-off left in order to go right. (The same hold true for the opposite rotation also.) It just is either too slow to accept your 'command', or way over-reative to just the slightest movement of the sticks. And when I push the stick forward, it starts to veer right before going forward... Read more

Not bad, but mine has quirks, March 24, 2011 = Durability:

This review is from: 3 Channel Apache Indoor RC Helicopter With Gyro Inexpensive and very fun to fly around the house. A micro RC helicopter that doesn't cost and arm and a leg, that can take a beating, and still be relatively easy to fly accurately is every little boy's dream. I have the original foam 2 ch SpinMasters helicopter and the 3 ch Syma S010 without the gyro or remote operated lights, so I feel that I'm fairly experienced with these toys.
This Apache has a very well detailed plastic body and with the bigger 3.7v battery, it flies much faster than the previous 1.5v choppers. The controls are a bit over-sensitive in that the slightest movements on the right stick rotates it or pitches it forward at close to full speed - almost not much proportional control. The Syma might have been slower and didn't have the gyro, but it was smoother and more precise in controlling it. My Apache also seems to have a defective gyro or control system, because while hovering, it continually spins clockwise slowly, even if the trim is set as far as... Read more
