Don't purchase this helicopter., March 14, 2012 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Estes SF161 Helicopter (Toy) We have enjoyed the Estes helicopter for a few weeks, but now it only works occassionally. There haven't been any major crashes. It just have a "mind of its own." We need to find out how to return it.

Battery
This is a toy so it can't heft enough weight for a decent battery (though that's not going to stop me from trying to upgrade it), so I only get 7-10 minutes out of a flight. But for that little money, that's about all I expected. And to be frank I start to run out of ideas of things to do with it after that long anyway, so no big deal. I'm not sure what a charge time is because I put it on the charger (tail hanging out of the controller) and go find something more worthwhile to do, so it's pretty much a non-issue for me. The shortest amount of time between setting it down to charge and coming back to play with it has been 45 minutes and it was ready to go.

Fun little helicopter, December 19, 2012 By This review is from: Estes SF161 Helicopter (Toy) My wife purchased this for me a couple years ago for my birthday. It's the first (and only) RC helicopter that I've ever used, so perhaps my opinion is skewed because of that. However, I've been pleased with its performance. My 5-year-old son loves watching me fly it. It can be a little tricky to control, but I've been able to maneuver it all around my house, and although it's had some crashes and has fallen to the ground on a number of occasions, it has kept flying. I've yet to replace the blades or anything. I charge it through my USB port on my computer, which takes about 45 min. I can then fly it for about the estimated length of flying time (6-8 min.). I have no idea what the range is on the controller, but I only fly it in the house, so I've never really tested that out.
