Somethings to mention if buying this, October 12, 2011 By = Durability:

= Educational: Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Remote Control RC Radio Control Gyropter Helicopter with LED Lights (Colors Blue and Silver sent at random) (Toy) This thing is awesome even though I have given it a bad overall star rating. Fun flying, but I am a beginner. Mentioning the bad things as these are the key things people didn't mention through the reviews I read. I would not suggest this one for a beginner, and I was expecting a larger scale model for the price. since a few extra bucks would have gotten me an outdoor heli.
This does not come with the 6 AA batteries needed to use right out of box. Make sure you check out your helicopter, because I noticed mine was missing parts. There are these small rubber bands that connect the top blades to that stablizer, and not having them on will cause your wings to get banged up pretty bad, as the bar inbetween the 2 blade levels would wack each blade. This was why it would not seem to fly from the start. After using the spares which they gave 5 extra bands, but they hurt to snap on, I was able to get this off the ground.

As far as radio controlled helicopters go it's pretty easy to fly. You can charge it about 20 minutes so you can fly it a lot. It's also durable so it can take the crashes while you build up you skill level. After twenty flights or so the rear rotor broke after a somewhat hard crash. I'm going to buy another one. After that I will try a higher end helicopter again. I think I'll have a lot more success flying a higher end helicopter since the Gyropter really helped me develop my flight skills.

It was a hit from the start, easy to operate, and seemed to handle all of the crashes we put it through without any damage. We got an excellent Black Friday deal on it (1/2 off) for one of our twin boys and only regret that we didn't buy one for our other son at the same price. I highly recommend it for anyone/any age!
