Mini Size, Mini Price and Mini Cost for Repair., December 25, 2012 By = Durability:
= Fun: = Educational: This review is from: US Ship Walkera QR SCORPION 6-Axis Dexterous Mini UFO, Quad W/ Devo 4 Tx, RTF (Toy) The Buy-In cost and Price of Repair has really come down with the entry of the Mini Copter into the market.
I bought a Scorpion a few weeks ago and suggest pacticing in the house or a place with no wind.
I tried it out in the park the other day and found out that it needs a landing pad if taking off on the grass.
Out in the open away from the ground it will go high and fast so watch it closely. My Scorpion got to about
16' high when a wind gust banked it and before I could do anything it crashed on the grass.
I watched one of the props fly off a motor, the battery also left and felt the copter was gone. After inspecting it, nothing else seemed damaged so I pressed the prop back on the motor and reinstalled the battery.
The controls seemed fine so I took off, kept her at 6' high and flew out about 30' straight and level.
I would like to see longer flight times because it seems that I never have the time to practice before I'm back at the battery... Read more
